The Unreachable Lighthouse

Written by Enos Sopacuaperu

The city roars with iron teeth of gray,
A bitter wind that chills me to the bone.
I fight the phantom battles of the day,
And walk through this crowd and gone.

I seek the gentle harbor of your best,
When stormy skies begin to crack and weep.
But I am wandering, devoid of rest,
Without your lullaby to pull me deep.

They say that time will melt the winter frost,
And wash the heavy sorrow from the shore.
Yet I am just a wanderer who is lost,
Who cannot find the lighthouse anymore.

The armor that I forge from each scars,
Is heavy on the shoulders of my own.
I search for your reflection in the stars,
To find the strength for the battles I should won.

So let the thunder roll across the sky,
And let the cruelest shadows softly creep.
Your love remains a memory that will not die,
A silent promise that my heart will keep.
