Cloister of Quiet Mind
Written by Enos Sopacuaperu
The noisy tides of earth begin to fade,
Retreating softly from my quiet shore.
Beneath the olive branch and amber shade,
The fever of the world intrudes no more.
My solitary room becomes a shrine,
Where silence is a chalice deep and still.
No rushed ambition tests this peace of mine,
No restless gale bends down my gentle will.
Here, time is not an arrow fierce and fast,
But sunlight drifting through an open door,
Where memories of shadows from the past
Dissolve like mist upon a marble floor.
I walk within this hush, completely whole,
Unburdened by the crowds that come and go.
A calm green island anchors in the soul,
Where solitary streams of wisdom flow.
